The building

Each year the Cathedral is visited by half a million people. Those half a million come here for various different reasons: to find peace and quiet, to celebrate the Eucharist, to listen to a concert, to gain strength, to experience the church's beauty, or to feel the winds of history.

Whoever you are, and for whatever reason you have come here, we want you to know that you are welcome. The stones of the Cathedral have much to tell - but the church was built here just for one reason: God wants to be with you.

So that you will be able to take a tour in the church whenever you feel like it, we have put the church on-line with a virtual guided tour.

Point at one of the numbered circles below to get further information about the item that it represents.

 Welcome!
